Hugo and Lulu learn Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Day 2
Today was Day 2 of the Hugo and Lulu's adventure to Brazil. Hugo, Lulu and 90 Learning Horizon campers came to The Gentle Art Academy to learn about the mysterious art of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
The campers learnt that Brazilian Jiu Jitsu was invented by a young man named Helio who was small sized and very sick as a young boy. Other people were often larger than him and were sometimes mean to him. He developed Brazilian Jiu Jitsu to defend himself from larger people and also in turn made himself stronger and more confident.
Helio eventually became one of the world's best martial artists and taught his sons and many others, Brazilian Jiu jitsu which is one of the most effective martial arts today
The Learning Horizon campers learnt some basic techniques such as tackling the giants and sweeping the giants which they used to win golden eggs from the land of the giants and also rode elephants.
They all had a great time and the coaches did as well. We hope to see them again soon.
Below are some action pics of the day.
